As an Agriscience Teacher for 8 years I even had the opportunity to teach floral design to high school students. When I started growing cut flowers in 2019, I realized I not only loved designing but also growing flowers and using locally grown blooms in my work. What started as a way to share homegrown flowers with my community quickly grew into leading floral workshops!
I love teaching workshops because they give people a chance to be creative and have fun. I always make sure my workshops are easy to follow so that everyone feels comfortable designing. My goal is for each person to leave feeling proud of what they made, whether it is a beautiful bouquet or a handmade wreath. It brings me so much joy to see the excitement on their faces when they finish their design.
Many of my workshop guests come back again and again. They enjoy spending a few hours creating something special and learning new skills. I also love meeting people in my community and sharing stories about my garden. Whether it is talking about flowers or helping someone design their perfect piece, I truly enjoy connecting with others and sharing my love of flowers through these floral workshops.
Booking Private Flower Workshops
Outlined below are the different flower workshops available for private groups.

A little bit of information on private workshops:
You must have a location space for the workshop. Back Porch Petals currently does not have a studio space to host events.
Pricing is for any size group up to 8 people. For groups over 8 participants there is a price per person added on to the base group rate.
Price includes all flowers, tools & materials needed plus up to two hours of instruction and assistance from Katy. There may be an additional fee for travel/delivery.
Back Porch Petals will travel to teach workshops within 30 miles of Liberty Township studio.
Bud Vase Flower Workshop
Perfect for a group that wants to pick flowers from a bouquet bar and make a small and adorable fresh flower arrangement. Each participant will get to select from an assortment of greens and fresh seasonal flowers to make an arrangement in a glass milk bottle vase.
Base Price: $200 (includes up to 8 people) and $25 for each additional person.
Mason Jar Flower Arrangement Workshop
One of my favorite styles of arrangements! Start with a rustic pint size mason jar and learn to fill it with unique seasonal materials to make a perfect flower centerpiece.
Base Price: Starting at $400 (includes up to 8 people) and $50 for each additional person.
Centerpiece Flower Arranging Workshop
Start with a beautiful vessel and learn to turn it into a beautiful flower arrangement!
Base Price: starting at $600 (includes up to 8 people) and $75 for each additional person.
Flower Crown Workshop
Learn how to make a flower crown from real or artificial flowers and greens. Would be perfect for a birthday party or ladies night!
Price: starting at $400 (includes up to 8 people) and $50 for each additional person.

Pumpkin Flower Centerpiece Workshop
Learn how to take a fresh pumpkin or ceramic keepsake pumpkin and make it into a stunning flower centerpiece!
Only available in September and October.
Price: $600 (includes up to 8 people) and $75 for each additional person.

Christmas Wreath Workshop
Learn how to make a fresh evergreen wreath from scratch for your holiday decorations!
Only available in Late November and Early December.
Price: $680 (includes up to 8 people) and $85 for each additional person.
Private Workshop Inquiry
Ready to plan a fun and hands on event for your office or friends and family? Back Porch Petals offers groups the opportunity to schedule a private flower or wreath workshop.
Katy will bring the fun to you and your group. Cost includes all of the tools and supplies needed to make the arrangement or wreath and instruction from Katy.
There is no minimum number of people. The base price includes up to 8 participants and then you can add additional people for a cost per person.
