Easy Overnight Oats
I've found that Overnight Oats are one of those things that people either like or don't, there isn't much in between. I happen to love them for breakfast. They are easy to make, healthy and truly fill me up until lunch. I've seen so many recipes for them and there are so many ingredients and things added to them I don't think they are really that healthy anymore. So, I came up with my own recipe for them with just 4 ingredients and it is perfect for this busy mom.
One of the great things about Overnight Oats is that you pretty much just add the main ingredients in even proportions and they come out great. All you need is Greek Yogurt, Milk (or Milk Substitute), Oats and Chia Seeds. You just put it all together and let them sit overnight in the refrigerator to thicken. Then grab and add toppings if you want, and you are set for breakfast!
Below is my super easy recipe and step by step directions. Enjoy!
Making Overnight Oats...
Add ingredients to mason jar...
All you need to make these is milk (or milk substitute), Greek yogurt, oats and chia seeds. For the Greek yogurt; I use my favorite flavor to avoid having to add a bunch of extra ingredients to get flavor. Once you have all of your ingredients, add all of them into mason jar or container. I love using a mason jar because you can easily grab it on the go as well!
Shake...
Shake or stir until all ingredients are thoroughly mixed together.
Refrigerate Overnight...
Refrigerate overnight or about 6-8 hours. This allows the oats to absorb some of the milk and yogurt and the chia seeds will help the entire mixture thicken.
Enjoy with Fresh Fruit or Toppings...
That's it! So easy! Enjoy!
