Bright, Beautiful and Modern Master Bathroom Reveal: One Room Challenge

This master bathroom renovation was completely DIY and not only remodeled the space but made it modern, bright, and beautiful! #masterbathroom #bathroominspiration #diy #modernbathroom #renovation

One Room Challenge reveal week is finally here! I am so excited to share our Master Bathroom and all of the details of the finished product! This was definitely a huge project, but I love how everything came together in the end. The bathroom is bright, modern and so chic.

My husband, Alex, gets most of the credit here; he put a lot of long hours in on weekends and nights to get the project completed. He was also the complete mastermind, engineer and handyman behind this design. We did EVERY detail ourselves which is a huge accomplishment, but also was a huge undertaking. The number one piece of advice I think I would give to anyone considering doing their own renovation is to be sure you have the time, knowledge and tools needed before getting into a project this big.

Okay, now on to the Bathroom!

Before...

Here's a little flashback to what the bathroom looked like before the renovation.

The space was dark, dingy and really outdated. Our main goals in the renovation were to:

  • Brighten the space with fresh paint, better lighting and new vanities.
  • Improve the storage.
  • Majorly improve the bathtub situation by replacing the built in tub with something new and modern.
  • Improve the flooring with something more modern and sturdy.
  • Renovate the shower by adding new tile, new doors and better storage.

Renovation...

Over the course of the past five weeks I have shared all of the details of our renovation. To read all about it check out all of my posts here:

Finished Product...

Here it is! Our beautiful, modern and updated space! I'm not even sure how this could be the same room as before! Scroll all of the way to the bottom to see every feature, and check out my full list of links for all of the materials we used.

I'm not sure which feature is my favorite: the vanities with carrara marble countertops, the beautiful floor, or that amazing freestanding tub! Plus, we added a fun pop of color with aqua rugs and towels from Target.

The wooden mirror with metal accents from Pier 1 Imports was a perfect addition to the space.

beautiful white subway tile in shower

This shower is a show stopper! The "Bulevar White" subway tiles catch the light perfectly and the "Hampton Arabesque" mosaic is just gorgeous! I'm so glad we went with The Tile Shop to source all of our tile!

stand alone bath tub

I can't get enough of this gorgeous MAAX freestanding tub! It is so perfect for the space and was such a major upgrade to this master bathroom. I added the SATSUMAS plant stand and MUSKOT pots from IKEA and planted some live plants to add some color and a natural element to the space (plus I love plants!).

The recessed lights and new vanity lighting make this space so bright even at night!

beautiful luxury vinyl tile in bathroom

The luxury vinyl plank flooring was the perfect choice for this space and it complements the colors of the vanities and walls!

All of these Moen Banbury fixtures perfectly complement our tile, tub and marble countertops. I am so glad we chose brushed nickel because it is so forgiving with little fingerprints.

Thank you to One Room Challenge for having me as a guest participant and allowing me to share all about our renovation. I can't wait to check out the blog and see all of the other final reveals!

Our next project to check off is remodeling the master closet that is attached to the master bathroom. (That is once I can convince Alex to start another project!) Then, who knows! I didn't initially start this blog to document our home renovations, but this was a lot of fun to work on and share. We just might have to get to work on the other projects on our to-do list!
